CCTV now live at Winstanley Shops

Following a spate of incidents involving gangs of youths and working alongside the owners of the shopping precinct, CCTV is now installed and connected to the Central Watch Monitoring System.

If you are a victim of anti-social behaviour (ASB) please report the matter to the Police on Tel 101. We understand the anger and frustration that many people feel when they or their homes have been subjected to ASB.

By reporting every incident, it assists us as your ward councillors to make representation for a greater share of resources to tackle this issue.

Greater Manchester Spatial Framework (GMSF)

Following the two public meetings held last month, we would like to encourage residents to object to the proposals contained in the GMSF to remove green belt status from land at Junction 25 of the M6.

This can be done st the GMSF website here

Suggestions on the content of objection letters can be viewed at The M6 South of Wigan Action Group website but include;

1. Loss of Greenbelt - the proposal does not warrant the removal of greenbelt status nor do any exceptional circumstances apply.
2. Impact on Air Quality and Noise Pollution
3. Impact on local traffic network
4. Impact on local services eg Schools, NHS

Please take a look at the suggested templates but try and re-word them in your own style and submit no later than 5pm on Friday, 23rd December 2016.

Remember - Once it's gone, it's gone forever.

Save Winstanley's Greenbelt!
