M58 Link Road Public Consultation Event & Marus Bridge Update

A public exhibition on the M58 link road has now been rescheduled to Tuesday 3rd November 2015 between 1pm - 7pm at Lamberhead Green Working Men’s Club, White Street, Pemberton.

We are now well in to the programme of works at the former Marus Bridge Roundabout. We understand that the scheme is running to timetable.

The contractor George Cox has now installed all of the new kerbs within the former roundabout island and 80% of the ducting for the traffic signals and street lighting is complete. They have also completed the stone base for the new road within the island and the widening in Highfield Grange Avenue ready for the tarmac surface.

Looking Ahead

Over the coming weeks the lane widening works to the north and south carriageways of the A49 will commence.

In addition, the lane widening in Highfield Grange Avenue and the existing roundabout area will be tarmacked. Stop / go boards (off peak) will be utilised to control traffic in Highfield Grange Ave for approx. 2 hours, whilst the tarmac laying machine moves along.

Lane closures will continue to be during off peak periods only. The closures will be removed during the rush hours to minimise disruption to traffic and keep it flowing as freely as possible whilst the works are carried out.
