£38 Million Boost for Wigan Schools

Clive Morgan at Marus Bridge Primary School
A £multimillion investment in Wigan Schools including a £1.3million boost for Marus Bridge Primary School has been welcomed by Labour's
Cllr Clive Morgan.

A recent surge in demand for school places due to the Borough's booming birth rate will see Marus Bridge Primary expanded to accommodate a new
classroom.

I’m proud of our schools and pleased they are
proving popular with parents. We’re seeing an increasing demand for places and projections suggest this trend is likely to continue for some time.'

It’s essential we act now to ensure we have enough space for those children who want a place. This is our Labour Council investing in our area for the benefit of local children - giving them a great start to their schooling.

The council has worked hard to find this money. That we’ve managed to raise such a large sum for school investment is in itself a significant achievement given the current Tory cuts programme.
