Christmas Cheer in Winstanley

A living Christmas Tree has been unveiled in Winstanley this month thanks to a Brighter Borough Fund grant from your ward councillors.

Located opposite St Aidan’s Social Centre on Highfield Grange Ave the tree will be a permanent features of the local landscape in future years with lighting and a perimeter fence to boot.

Cllrs Paul Kenny and Clive Morgan were joined by Council officer Chris Pennington and local residents at its unveiling.

The latest festive addition to Winstanley follows the installation of Christmas decorations on street lamps on Billinge Rd and Highfield Grange Ave last year.

Cllr Clive Morgan said, “The Christmas Tree and Street light decorations provide festive cheer a plenty and really look stunning as the day turns to night."

“We wanted to create a permanent Christmas Tree setting which is right in the heart of the community and will be seen by many pedestrians and road users over the festive period.”
